Positions Vacant: Lodge Operations Manager and Hostess – Couple wanted
Dhipirri Barra and Sportfishing Lodge is currently seeking two quality individuals to join our Lodge based team in Arnhem Land – with our Operations Manager and a second Hostess role available for the remainder of the 2025 fishing season, and potentially beyond.
This is a great opportunity for a couple to take up residence at the Lodge together filling two great roles in Arnhem Land that keep the Lodge providing the ‘Dhipirri Experience’ to our valued guests year after year.
The Lodge is located in East Arnhem Land, which is a very remote and beautiful area of the Northern Territory.
So please note: These positions require you to be remotely located for long periods of time. You must have the ability to rise to the challenge of unique situations and adapt to the limitations associated with living and working remote.
We would prefer a couple to fill these positions, and you will have your own cabin to live in whilst at the Lodge, offering substantial privacy.

Lodge Operations Manager
We are seeking an experienced Lodge Operations Manager who possesses exceptional leadership and communicational skills to inspire our team at the Lodge to continue with delivering the overall ‘Dhipirri Experience’ for our valued clients.
Skills/Knowledge/Experience Required:
- Punctual, self-motivated and self-managed, energetic person with an extensive repertoire of skills involving customer service, time/staff management, property management, freight logistics and operations co-ordination.
- Have a hands-on approach and ability to prioritise your workload, have an eye for detail and standards across the board to be upheld ensuring the integrity, success and smooth operations of the lodge.
- Experience working remote in hospitality, tourism and adventure environments.
- Interest and knowledge of fishing being advantageous with an understanding of coastal and estuary fishing preferred.
- A thorough understanding and/or skillset of the operation and maintenance of utilities, equipment relating to generated power and bore water management.
- Vessel operation, maintenance and engine servicing.
- Experienced with operating heavy machinery ie. tractors and boat trailers.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and ensure financial performance.
- Proficient in administration skills and computer programs ie. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Point of Sale administration, plus an understanding of the importance of proactively collecting media content from guides, and our guests for Dhipirri’s Social Media.
- Analyse customer feedback and provide strategic direction to staff to improve overall rating.
- Must have current national Police Check or be able to obtain one
- Hold a current Coxswain Licence or equivalent
- Hold a current recognised Australian RSA Certificate
- Hold a Valid Food Safety Supervisor Certificate or be able to obtain one
- Current Remote First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Australian Driver’s licence

Lodge Hostess
Dhipirri Lodge are seeking a highly self-motivated, self-managed and enthusiastic person to join our team as another Hostess/All-Rounder, to assist with delivering the overall ‘Dhipirri Experience‘ to our valued clients.
To be considered for the position you will have to demonstrate and possess:
- Hold a current recognised Australian RSA Certificate.
- Hold a Valid Food Safety Supervisor Certificate or be able to obtain one.
- Hold a current (Remote) First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Australian Driver’s licence.
- Must have current national Police Check or be able to obtain one.
- Must be fluent in English, excellent personal presentation with good written and communicational skills.
- Be client focused, comfortable when interacting with clients and thrive in a busy work environment.
- Punctual with ability to prioritise, ability to multi-task, have good work ethics, and most important – work independently and most important as a ‘team’ player.
- Daily duties include night meal service, general operation and service of the bar with point-of-sale administration. Merchandise sales and stock control plus other general lodge duties such as cleaning bar and kitchen areas.
